The invention relates to a device comprising: a surface float (1); a submerged structure (2) suspended from the surface float (1); a propeller (3) rotatably mounted in the submerged structure (2) in order to be driven by bodies of water moving in sea, tidal or river currents; and an electric generator (4) operatively connected in order to be actuated by the propeller (3). The surface float (1) and/or the submerged structure (2) are moored to a mooring device (5). The electric generator (4) is installed in the surface float (1) and a mechanical transmission is provided in order to transmit the rotational movement of an actuation shaft (3a) coupled to the propeller (3) to an input shaft (4a) of the electric generator (4).
