摘要

Disclosed are an adaptive competition-based motion candidate vector calculation method for efficient coding/decoding of a motion vector, and a device for coding/decoding a motion vector using same. The device for coding a motion vector, according to the present invention, comprises: a candidate predictive motion vector classification unit for classifying candidate predictive motion vectors, which form a set of candidate predictive motion vectors, into a plurality of candidate sets depending on the characteristics of the predictive motion vectors; a representative motion vector selection unit for selecting a representative motion vector from each of the candidate sets that are classified by the candidate predictive motion vector classification unit, comparing, with a threshold value, a difference between the representative motion vectors selected from the respective candidate sets, and selecting at least one of the representative motion vectors depending on the result of the comparison; and a motion vector coding unit for coding the differential value between the representative motion vector selected by the representative motion vector selection unit and the motion vector of a current block.
