A motion-sensing input method relating to the field of motion-sensing input is disclosed. The invention solves the problem in the prior art of being unable to judge whether motion-sensing input has been completed if a pause occurs during the motion-sensing input, thus causing errors in the motion-sensing input results. The motion-sensing input method comprises: receiving a motion-sensing input initiation signal sent by a wireless handheld device; collecting motion traces of the wireless handheld device; receiving a motion-sensing input completion signal from the wireless handheld device; recognizing the motion traces collected between the motion-sensing input initiation signal and the motion-sensing input completion signal; outputting one or a plurality of recognition results, the recognition results including at least one of a letter, number, character or phrase matching the collected motion trace.
