A device for separating an envelope from congratulation or condolence money enclosed therein, and an automatic congratulation or condolence money reception device, according to the present invention, comprising a transferring unit which transfers an envelope enclosing congratulation or condolence money; a pressing unit which is disposed on an end portion of the transferring unit and applies force to the envelope of which both sides are fixed so that the opening of the envelope is broadened; and a separating unit which takes out the congratulation or condolence money from the envelope.
