A system and a method for self-adaptive garbage object collection are provided. The method includes simultaneously releasing objects in-heap space and out-of-heap space, as JAVA garbage objects are released during system running period. Using this technical solution, memory space waste is avoided by releasing all the space occupied by the garbage objects; furthermore, instead of releasing all the garbage objects at a time, the releasing can be implemented according to the needs of current system running, so as to improve the utilization ratio of CPU resources and the performance of a JAVA virtual machine.
