METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PACKET CORE NETWORK CALLING TRADITIONAL CIRCUIT DOMAIN NETWORK USERS

A method and system for a packet core network calling traditional circuit domain network users are disclosed. The method includes: after receiving a request message sent from a call session control unit, a media gateway control unit sends a first call progress message in which a preset tone indicating "please wait" is carried to the call session control unit; the media gateway control unit sends an initial address message to the traditional circuit domain network and initiates a preset timer; if the timer goes beyond the preset time and the traditional circuit domain network does not respond, the media gateway control unit sends a second call progress message in which a preset tone indicating that the other can not be connected is carried to the call session control unit and the media gateway control unit deals according to a preset policy. Resources waiting waste is avoided and a better use friendliness for user businesses is provided.
