The present invention discloses a distribution platform for integrated multi-platform applications and a method for downloading applications. The distribution platform includes: an identification unit, a retrieving unit and a downloading unit, wherein the identification unit is used for, when a terminal accesses the distribution platform, identifying the model of the terminal and the type of the supported application platform, and reporting them to the retrieving unit; the retrieving unit is used for, when receiving the model of the terminal and the type of the supported application platform reported by the identification unit, according to the model of the terminal and the type of the supported application platform, retrieving the application programs applicable to the terminal from multiple stored application programs, and providing them to the downloading unit; the downloading unit is used for, within the range of the application programs applicable to the terminal provided by the retrieving unit, providing inquiry and downloading services for the terminal. The present invention solves the problem in the prior art that due to various kinds of terminals of different platforms, the users can hardly find application programs which are applicable to their terminals and meet their requirements.
