A self-help library includes a cabinet (100), a books exhibiting device (200), a specific-type books exhibiting device (300), a books output device (400), a books receiving device (500), a borrowing/returning device (600) and a books central control system (700). The cabinet (100) is used for holding the books exhibiting device (200), the specific-type books exhibiting device (300), the books output device (400), the books receiving device (500), the borrowing/returning device (600) and the books central control system (700). The books exhibiting device is (200) used for exhibiting the books. The specific-type books exhibiting device (300) is used for exhibiting the specific-type books. The books output device (400) is used for outputting the books to be borrowed. The books receiving device (500) is used for reclaiming returned books. The borrowing/returning device (600) is used for an interface for borrowing or returning books. The books central control system (700) is used for controlling operation of the books exhibiting device (200), the specific-type books exhibiting device (300), the books output device (400), the books receiving device (500) and the borrowing/returning device (600).
