A method for determining a value of a measured variable which comprises a function of a first auxiliary measured variable and at least one second auxiliary measured variable: recording and providing a series of measured values of the first auxiliary measured value over at least a first time period; providing a value of the second auxiliary measured variable, the time at which the provided value is recorded lying in the first time period; selecting a value of the first auxiliary measured variable from the series of measured values of the first auxiliary measured variable in dependence on information concerning the time at which the provided value of the second auxiliary measured variable was recorded, and determining a value of the measured variable as a function of the selected value of the first auxiliary measured variable and the value of the second auxiliary measured variable.
