PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably guarantee the consistency of data even if device-to-device communications are disrupted at a certain timing when writing data of a size equal to or greater than a predetermined size.;SOLUTION: In a noncontact IC card, 16 bites are used as one block as a unit for reading and writing information and the writing of information is guaranteed up to 8 blocks which is the maximum simultaneous writing size. A mechanism of TOC (Table Of Contents) is constructed on the memory space of the card. To write information in excess of the maximum simultaneous writing size, the associated rewriting of TOC can be done by one transaction to prevent destruction of the contents of the memory even in the event that a card is removed from a writing machine during writing.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
