AN IMMUNOGENIC COMPOSITION FOR USE IN A VACCINE AND AN IMMUNODIAGNOSTIC TEST KIT FOR VISCERAL LEISHMANIASIS

The present invention describes an immunogenic composition for use in a vaccine and a test for immunodiagnosis of visceral leishmaniasis. More specifically, the invention comprises a vaccine and an immunodiagnostic test kit for leishmaniasis, developed through the identification, production and selection of new antigens by means of proteomic analysis, bioinformatics, peptide synthesis and immunoassay. The high specificity of these antigens makes it possible for an effective vaccine to be developed against leishmaniasis, as well as a more efficient test for the immunodiagnosis of canine or human visceral leishmaniasis.
