A test signal input terminal for searching extra-high voltage cable fault point of universal type GIS equipment, comprises a cable terminal hand hole (5) of the GIS equipment and an external cable conductor (3) inside a GIS equipment shell (1), wherein the cable terminal hand hole (5) is provided with a hand hole sealing plate (7), an insulated sealing plate base (8), an insulated sealing plate (9) and an input terminal conductor (10). A first through hole (17) is disposed on the hand hole sealing plate (7), and a second through hole (18) is disposed on the insulated sealing plate base (8). A section of elastic connecting electric conductor (11) is arranged between the external cable conductor(3) one end of the cable terminal hand hole(5) passing through the second and first through hole (18, 17) to extend into the cable terminal hand hole (5). And a first sealing structure and a second sealing structure (13, 14) are arranged between the cable terminal hand hole (5) and the hand hole sealing plate (7), and between the insulated sealing plate base (8) and an input terminal insulated sealing plate (9). The input terminal solves the problems of the signal input terminal in respect of insulated seal and high voltage insulation, and can be applied to the test/maintenance field of various GIS equipment extra-high voltage cables.
