PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition for a water-based coating, which has excellent corrosion resistance and water resistance, exhibits excellent dispersion stability of pigment and dispersion stability of a vinyl-modified epoxy ester resin even if an organic solvent content is zero or extremely low and a water-based coating using the resin composition for a water-based coating.;SOLUTION: The resin composition for a water-based coating comprises (A) a vinyl-modified epoxy ester resin containing a fatty acid chain bonded to a vinyl polymer part and water in which (A) the vinyl-modified epoxy ester resin has a terminal carboxy group-containing structure at the vinyl polymer part and a part or the whole of the terminal carboxy group-containing structure is neutralized with a basic compound. The water-based coating comprises the resin composition for a water-based coating and pigment. The method for producing the resin composition for a water-based coating comprises carrying out inverse emulsification of a neutralized substance of (A1) a vinyl-modified epoxy ester resin into water and then removing an organic solvent.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
