The invention relates to a local transport system for people in city centers and close to cities, comprising a parking facility having two vertical, tower-shaped helices (2) having opposite directions of rotation. The ends of the helices (2) are connected to each other by means of the roadway. The vehicles (5) are parked one behind the other in a row in a queue on the helices (2) and are moved forward along the helices (2).
