A method and device for inviting friends in a social networking site through a mobile communication terminal are disclosed by the present invention. The method includes the following steps: acquiring contact ways of friends to be invited in the mobile communication terminal; generating invitation information comprising a link URL for inviting the friends to be invited as friends of an inviter in the social networking site; and transmitting the invitation information using an information transmission way corresponding to the contact way. The present invention acquires different contact ways of different friends in the mobile communication terminal, and transmits invitation information in different forms according to the different contact ways so as to achieve the purpose of inviting friends in different ways, and increases ways of inviting friends to improve the convenience for users to invite friends and improve the experience of the users.
