The invention relates to a device and method for generating superheated steam by means of solar energy. For this purpose, a steam generator that is based on the forced flow concept is employed. The superheated steam, which is used, for example, to drive a steam turbine, is generated inside a water pipe in multiple stages, that is via feed water preheating, evaporation and superheating. To this end, helically shaped water pipes are used for guiding the water or steam. The thermal energy required for generating superheated steam is provided by a heat transfer medium heated by means of solar energy. In order to increase the efficiency of the superheated steam generation, tube bundles are employed, inter alia. With respect to larger steam generator units, in addition a plurality of steam generators are interconnected in parallel.
