The invention relates to the field of agglomerating compositions for construction and, more specifically, to the use of carboxymethyl chitosan as a flocculation additive and setting accelerator in agglomerating compositions of the cement, cement mortar, concrete, grout, stucco or similar type. The invention also relates to agglomerating compositions comprising carboxymethyl chitosan and to the preparation method thereof.
