The present invention discloses a method for realizing the proxy mode of a personal network device and a personal network device thereof. The method includes the following steps: a converged personal network service (CPNS) device detects that a non-CPNS device accesses, then the CPNS device initiates the proxy mode, wherein the proxy mode means that the non-CPNS device is allowed to access the network through the CPNS device; under the proxy mode, the CPNS device forwards the interactive information between the non-CPNS device and the network. By means of the present invention, the problem that the non-CPNS device could not access the network through the proxy device is solved, thereby the CPNS network is extended and the capability of the CPNS devices and the non-CPNS devices to use services in the network is improved.
