The invention relates to a method for playing back a sound file on a receiving mobile telephone by means of a transmitting mobile telephone and a computer programme product. According to the invention, in order to improve the entertainment value of mobile telephones, the following method steps are provided for playback of a sound file on a receiving mobile telephone by means of a transmitting telephone: a) an identifier for a sound file and a code for a receiving mobile telephone are selected using the transmitting mobile telephone, b) the identifier for the sound file and the code for the receiving mobile telephone are transmitted to a server, c) a control command and the sound file corresponding to the identifier are transmitted to the receiving mobile telephone by the server, d) a piece of software installed on the receiving mobile telephone is authorised to directly playback the transmitted sound file on the receiving mobile telephone based on the received control command.
