In previous play devices, for example, DE 100 40 145 or GM 79 29 240, that perform a swaying motion, an upper round rail, which is arranged below a tread surface, the center point of which is supported in a ball joint or universal joint, rolls on a circular lower round rail. However, it is also possible that the upper round rail lifts off from the lower round rail due to weight shifts of the user, whereupon the upper round rail can strike the latter. There are disadvantages to this, namely that said impacts can be transferred to the user, the service life of the play device is reduced, and vandals have an additional target. According to the invention, a half of an at least two-part joint has a center piece, which passes through or by corresponding openings of the other half of the joint and then can revolve around a center piece extending in the opposite direction. The tread surface is now always positively guided in an inclined state. The play device is characterized by a lower risk of personal injuries on playgrounds or similar facilities. The service life of the play device is increased, and vandals do not have an additional target. The ease of motion of the play device is maintained.
