The system has LEDs (E) for emitting colored light and integrated in outer end positions of handlebar grips of a bicycle. The LEDs are energized by batteries that are provided in a bicycle handlebar (N). A handlebar grip unit consists of grip parts connected with each other, which integrates the lighting installation. The handlebar grip unit exhibits a switch (G) in a grip head (C). The system in the grip head is embedded in silicone. The LEDs are positioned behind a viewing window that exhibit different colors.
