A hybrid excitation synchronous generator with a coordinate structure and an AC excitation control system thereof are provided. The generator includes a permanent magnet portion (17) and an electrical excitation portion (18) disposed coordinately in an axial direction in the same housing (12). The stator cores (9, 11) of the two portions (17, 18) independent from each other have the same numbers of tooth slots and share a set of stator armature windings (5). A permanent magnet inductive electromotive force and an electrical excitation inductive electromotive force are superposed in the armature windings (5). A set of AC excitation windings (10) are disposed in the stator core (11) of the electrical excitation portion (17). The control system includes an output voltage detection and adjustment circuit, three current sensors, an excitation current detection and adjustment circuit, a rotor position detecting and processing circuit, a rectification bridge, a filter capacitor and a digital voltage adjustment AC excitation controller. The magnitude and phase of the AC excitation current are regulated by vector control. Therefore the magnitude and phase of the electrical excitation inductive electromotive force of the armature windings (5) and the magnitude of the total output voltage of the generator are regulated to stabilize the output voltage of the generator.
