Disclosed is a peak clipping coefficient update method and device suitable for a frequency hopping and power fluctuation system, which can be applied for peak clipping coefficient update in a system with the situation of frequency hopping, carrier power fluctuation and carrier amount variation. The method includes the following steps: an update start signal of a cancellation pulse generating (CPG) filter coefficient is generated when a carrier frequency point varies or a relative variation quantity of the carrier power is greater than a preset value; a power weighting calculation is performed on a prototype filter coefficient of a carrier; the CPG filter coefficient is obtained; a normalization, gain compensation and quantification for the CPG filter coefficient are carried out; and the CPG filter coefficient is updated. The invention ensures that the peak clipping performance index is matched with the static peak clipping performance index, thereby ensuring the performance index of the system applied in different scenes.
