METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REGISTERING IN CONSTRAINED APPLICATION PROTOCOL (COAP) NETWORK

A method and apparatus for registering in Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP) network are provided, wherein the method includes receiving the CoAP message carrying the register information, and said carrying the register information includes carrying the register information through any or several of the expanded CoAP, the corresponding header, the expanded header, the message entity and the Uniform Resource Identifier URI; determining whether the CoAP message is transmitted by a signed user, if yes, storing said register information, else refusing the register request corresponding with the CoAP message. The present invention enables the terminal to register in time the current internet protocol (IP) address of the terminal at the platform or server in network by transmitting the CoAP message carrying register information, so that the server or platform can obtain the online state of the terminal in time, ensuring that the CoAP message transmitted to the terminal identifier can be transmitted correctly.
