The invention relates to a method for increasing accuracy of a position tracking (02) of a vehicle in software-based control systems, wherein parallel calculations according to two or more different models (03, 04) are carried out for position tracking (02), wherein the models (03, 04) employed are selected such that data from different sources (05, 06, 07, 08) is used for the calculations. The invention further describes a computer program product, which prompts a microprocessor comprising a microcontroller having associated memory means to carry out the method.
