The present invention refers to flame retardant epoxy resins and epoxy glass- reinforced laminates. Flame retardant compositions according to the invention, containing epoxy resins, dissolvent and possibly some auxiliary agents have the following characteristics: 100 parts by weight of epoxy resin on the basis of bisphenol A or its mixture with epoxy novolak resin and/or novolak resin favorably contain 5 - 30 parts by weight of nitrogen-phosphorous compounds which in their structure have at least 35% of phosphorous pentoxide and at least 45% of total amount of nitrogen.
