An information push method and system based on an LTE system are disclosed. The method comprises: acquiring terminal location information according to information exchanged between an access network device and a mobility management entity, and acquiring terminal identification information; and pushing information to be pushed to the terminal according to the terminal location information and the terminal identification information. In the embodiment of the present invention, in combination with an LTE system mobility management mechanism, the system is capable of targeting different user groups according to application requirements, and pushing information to users according to behavior characteristics of the user groups, thereby preventing unrelated text messages from affecting the users and wasting system resources.
