The present invention relates to a device and method by which a distortion phenomenon of depth in a stereoscopic image, which appears when a stereoscopic image is watched through a three-dimensional display, can be corrected for a viewer, the device comprising: a display unit receiving and then playing a stereoscopic image stream; a stereoscopic image acquisition unit saving all or some of the stereoscopic image stream played in the display unit; and a depth pattern play unit extracting a depth pattern in a diagonal direction or a depth pattern in a back and forth direction in the saved stereoscopic image stream and then providing the extracted depth pattern to the display unit.
