This invention relates to new silsesquioxane derivatives, containing two functional group types having the general formula 1, [R1(SiR32O)m]n[R2(SiR32O)m]8-n[(SiO1.5)8] wherein • R1 denotes the group HCF2(CF2)x(CH2)yO(CH2)3- or CF3(CF2)ZCH2CH2-; • R2 denotes the glycidoxypropyl, triethoxysilylethyl functional group: • R3 are equal and denote a methyl or phenyl group; • m - are equal and take the value 0 or 1, n=1-7, x=1-12, y=1-4, z=0-12. In its second aspect, this invention relates to a method to obtain new and conventional silsesquioxane derivatives having the general formula 1, by two-step hydrosilylation. A fluorinated olefin is hydrosilylated with hydridosilsesquioxane in the first step, followed by the second step where a functional olefin is hydrosilylated with a partly substituted hydridosilsesquioxane resulting from the first step, in the presence of conventional catalysts for hydrosilylation processes, specifically transition metal complexes.
