The invention relates to a mixture of substances which has unprecedented moisture-storing properties, to a method for producing said mixture of substances and to the use of the mixture of substances for moisture-storing panels for the building sector and for the production of moisture-storing panels. The mixture of substances and the moisture-storing panels producible therefrom have a moisture buffer value (MBV) in the range of more than 5.5 g/(m2 % relative moisture) and comprise water glass, especially potash waterglass, as the binder, in addition to an air-activated carbon main component and fillers, especially pumice, pyrogenic silica and bloated clay sand.
