The subject of the invention is a process for producing surface decoration on vlies base material, and the decoration product applied by the process, which is a special adhesive technology suitable in case of vlies materials for fixing wallpaper or other pictures of large size to walls or other materials. During the process according to the invention decoration patterns, primarily pictures are produced by printing on vlies material, and the vlies material provided this way is fixed with sticking onto the wall surface. The method is characterized by that, following the printing of the picture on the vlies carrier layer, an adhesive layer of water soluble adhesive is formed on the back side of the vlies material, and the vlies carrier layer provided this way is fitted on to the wall surface to be decorated, then following smoothing, then the decoration surface is moistened on the picture side and is fitted on to the wall until it sets.
