[Problem] To provide a cash handling system for accurately loading change or collecting proceeds safely with less effort. [Solution] The cash handling system comprises: a cash calculator (11) for performing a calculation for a customer when cash is input or output; a cash in-out device (21) for discharging cash to the cash calculator and receiving cash collected from the cash calculator; and a cash carrier cassette (30) attachable to the cash calculator and the cash in-out device, wherein when the cash carrier cassette is attached to the cash calculator or the cash in-out device, the cash carrier cassette supplies or receives cash between the cash calculator and the cash in-out device, and when the cash carrier cassette is detached from the cash calculator and the cash in-out device, the cash carrier cassette is locked so that cash cannot be taken out from the cash carrier cassette.
