Balloon catheter with a radially asymmetrically dilatable portion

The catheter has a dilatable balloon comprising a radially and asymmetrically dilatable portion, where a cross-section of the dilatable portion has a region (5) and another region (6) lying opposite to the former region. The two regions differ from one another in terms of radial strength of a balloon wall. Wall thickness of the former region is greater than minimum wall thickness of the latter region at a point on a cross-sectional circumference located opposite to a minimum wall thickness of the latter region. The portion is extended over the entire balloon.
