The method involves determining a spatial relationship (22) between bite fork (5) and temporomandibular joints (4) by a computerized recording system (28). A spatial relationship (23) between the bite fork and jaw model is determined by using localizable structures whose spatial relationship to bite fork is known. The spatial relationship between skull (20) and jaw model in skull-specific coordinate system is obtained by using the determined spatial relationships. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) device for registration of three-dimensional measurement data of jaw model; and (2) adaptor.
