Measurement of the mass flow of conveyed material within a pneumatic conveyor conduit

The method involves providing a floating suspended deflecting section (1) of the conveyed material, and considering the pressure fluctuations in the delivery lines (4,5). The deflecting section acting reaction force due to the deflection of the mass flow is measured. The instantaneous mass flow is calculated from the measured reaction force. An independent claim is also included for a device for measuring the mass flow of material to be conveyed in a pneumatic conveying line.
