Mediation method and device for causing interactions between independent applications within a communication network

The method involves utilizing a distributed session context type mediation protocol when independent applications (A1, A2) use a communication session e.g. multimedia session, initiated by a user terminal (T). An identifier of each application is recorded in correspondence to an identifier of the session. A shared context object associated to the session identifier and monitored by each recorded application is generated. A task result produced by one application is adapted according to adaptation rules before being integrated in the object such that the result is used by another application. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a mediation device for use in a communication network (2) an application server for a communication network.
