The machine has a gimp yarn feeder (23) that supplies a gimp yarn (16) to an eyelet button-hole seam. A gimp tension-thread-guard apparatus (24) has a gimp tension-thread guard unit (25) which guides a gimp yarn. A monitoring sensor (30) monitors the position of a gimp tension-thread guard unit. A gimp tension-thread-guard unit is moved to a gimp webbing appearance position from a neutral position according to the extraction efficacy of the supplied gimp yarn. A control apparatus (38) has a signal connection unit (39) which is provided with monitoring sensor.
