PURPOSE: A mapping and de-mapping method of non-binary symbols in a data communication system is provided to map a GF(Galois Field) symbols to MIMO(Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) code words, thereby accomplishing improved negotiation between complexity and error function.;CONSTITUTION: One or more physical layer code words include parts which are mapped from one or more non-binary Galois field symbols. One or more likelihood estimation values are calculated with respect to first non-binary Galois field symbol values. A calculation procedure includes a first number value selection step of a second non-binary Galois field symbol. First number values comprise a sub set of possible values of the second non-binary Galois field symbol.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
