The non-invasive measuring method involves irradiating a massive wood sample (HP) of a known type of a wood (HA) with monochromatic light of a fluorescence excitation wavelength at a measuring point (M1) in a hypothetical region of a core timber (KH) and another measuring point (M2) in an assumed area of a sapwood (SH ). The fluorescence spectrum (F1) at the former measuring point and another fluorescence spectrum (F2) at the latter measuring point are measured. The fluorescence spectrums are analyzed regarding a point of intersection (S) with an analysis result.
