PURPOSE: A coagulating structure exposing method of a low carbon steel slab is provided to rapidly detect errors on casting processes by obtaining a high resolution image of a coagulating structure and segregation. CONSTITUTION: A coagulating structure exposing method of a low carbon steel slab comprises the next step. A slab sample is heated after being immersed in etching liquid made from picric acid(C6H3N3O7), cupric chloride(CuCl2), sodium lauryl benzene sulfuric acid(C18H29SO3Na), and distilled water. The slab sample is cleaned and dried after the etching step is completed. Silicone grease spreads on the surface of the dried slab sample. The silicon grease coated surface is polished. A transparent adhesion tape is attached to and taken off from the polished surface. Paper is attached to and taken off from the surface where the transparent adhesion tape is taken off. A coagulating structure image is evaluated.
