PURPOSE: A retardation film is provided to have excellent view angle characteristic like lateral contrast, color shift, etc, thereby useful for retardation film for a VA mode liquid crystal display device.;CONSTITUTION: A retardation film comprises 100.0 parts by weight cellulose component and 2-10 parts by weight retardation additive in the chemical formula 1. In the chemical formula 1, R is respectively and independently hydrogen, acetate group, or propionate. A liquid crystal display comprises: liquid crystal cell; a pair of polarizing plates in the both side of the liquid crystal cell; an upper retardation film attached to the polarizing plate of image display direction among the polarizing plates; and a bottom retardation film attached to the polarizing plate of backlight direction.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
