ANTIBACTERIAL FINISH OF POLYPROPYLENE FABRICS USING CARDANOL ANTIBACTERIAL-AGENTS

PURPOSE: An antibacterial method for processing polypropylene using natural antibacterial agent of cardanols is provided to ensure continuous antibacterial function and to improve color fastness. CONSTITUTION: An antibacterial method for processing polypropylene using antibacterial agent of cardanols comprises: a step of preparing an antibacterial processing solution of emulsion form containing 5-20 wt% of cardanols, 5-20 wt% of polyethylene oxide surfactant, and remaining amount of water; a step of processing polypropylene fiber using the antibacterial processing solution; a step of dipping fiber using the antibacterial processing solution and treating at 40-130C for 30-60 minutes; a step of padding the fiber and treating at 105-180C for 5-20 minutes; and a step of washing the polypropylene fiber with water of room temperature.
