PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing rod and whisker type magnesium hydroxide-based materials is provided to synthesize rod and whisker type magnesium-based materials at relative low temperatures by using magnesium salt, various basic materials, and additives through a hydrothermal synthesizing method.;CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing rod and whisker type magnesium hydroxide-based materials includes the following: Magnesium source and carbonate are mixed, and a distilled water is mixed with the mixture. A pH controlling material and a catalyst are introduced into the mixture to simultaneously adjust the pH value of the mixture.
