PURPOSE: A backlight unit and liquid crystal display apparatus including the same are provided to reduce manufacturing costs by fixing a bottom cover and a light guide plate.;CONSTITUTION: A bottom cover(160) includes a bottom surface(160b) and side wall(160a, 160c). The bottom cover protects light sources. The bottom cover supports the boundary of an optical sheet. A light guide plate is arranged between the bottom cover and the optical sheet.
