PEOPLE COUNTING SYSTEM AND METHOD BY IMAGE ANALYSIS

PURPOSE: A people counting system and a method thereof are provided to variously set the enter/exit direction of a visitor, thereby counting the number of visitors. CONSTITUTION: An object recognizing unit(151) recognizes a visitor object which passes a space from each image frame which is consecutively provided from a camera. An object tracking unit(153) tracks movement of the object based on a result that the object recognizing unit recognizes. The object tracking unit generates counting information based on the tracking result. A counter unit(170) counts the number of visitors according to the counting information provided from the object tracking unit.
