PURPOSE: Multi-walled carbon nano-tube for gas adsorption and storage and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to increase an adsorption site by providing a halogen functional group to the multi-walled carbon nano-tube.;CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of a multi-walled carbon nano-tube for gas adsorption and storage comprises the following steps: injecting and exhausting inert gas into a reactor; heat-treating the multi-walled carbon nano-tube in the reactor; and injecting halogen gas so that the halogen gas can react with the heat-treated multi-walled carbon nano-tube. In the injection and evacuation of the inert gas step, the pressure of the reactor increases or diminishes at a speed of 0.01-0.2bar/min. The heat-treating lasts for 0.1-2hours at 100-300deg.C. The halogen gas at the last step is either halogen gas or a mix of halogen and inert gases. The reaction step of the halogen gas and the heat-treated multi-walled carbon nano-tube lasts for 0.1-1 for hour at 100-400deg.C.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
