摘要

PURPOSE: A portable device for measuring mill scale thickness and a method thereof are provided to prevent a thick plate product with thick and weak mill scale from being shipped for manufacturing pipe and minimize customer complaints about quality by secondary processing like a shot process.;CONSTITUTION: A portable device for measuring mill scale thickness(100) comprises a conductive probe(110), a driving unit(120), a resistance meter(130) and a thickness measuring unit. The driving unit drives the conductive probe up and down. The resistance meter detects resistance values according to electric conductivity of the conductive probe. When the resistance value changes to the reference resistance value according to driving of the conductive probe, the thickness measuring unit measures thickness in the changed point as mill scale thickness. The reference resistance value is specific resistance value of a steel part of a thick plate.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
