摘要

PURPOSE: An electronic parking brake system and a controlling method are provided to effectively detect malfunction of the electronic parking brake system, thereby enhancing stability and safety of vehicles.;CONSTITUTION: An electronic parking brake system comprises a parking switch(70), a motor(10), and an electronic control unit(80). The parking switch commands braking of a vehicle by operation of an operator. The motor generates braking power of the vehicle. The electronic control unit subtracts a certain number from the malfunctioned counter if the parking switch re-operates within a predetermined time, and adds the certain number to the malfunctioned counter if the parking switch re-operates after a predetermined time. The electronic control unit determines whether the malfunctioned counter is zero or not. If an outcome is zero, the electronic control unit prohibits drive of the motor.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
