PURPOSE: A regional feature analyzing device based on POI(Point Of Interest) and a method thereof are provided to combine the size of an area about corresponding POI with geographic information and analyze regional features.;CONSTITUTION: A map partition unit(110) vertically and horizontally partitions map information by a fixed size. A POI distribution checking unit(120) checks POI distribution in the partitioned grid based on a POI database. A category classifying unit(130) classifies the POI distribution which is checked by the POI distribution checking unit by a category.
