SEISMIC RETROFIT APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MASONRY STRUCTURES USING STEEL WALL-COLUMN

PURPOSE: A seismic reinforcing apparatus and a seismic reinforcing method of a masonry structure are provided to effectively prevent a masonry structure from collapsing by vertically positioning column-shaped corner reinforcing units in the corners of the structure. CONSTITUTION: A seismic reinforcing apparatus(100) of a masonry structure comprises column-shaped corner reinforcing units(120) and top fixing units(140). The column-shaped corner reinforcing units are vertically installed in the corners(116) of a masonry structure(110) and restricts the movement of masonry walls(112) of the masonry structure. Each top fixing unit comprises anchor bolts(142) for supporting the load of a slab(114). The top fixing units are fixed to the slab to fix the top ends of the corner reinforcing units to the slab.
